Here's a quick overview of some of the tools available on this website:
Interactive Maps
This is a more advanced, and certainly the most exciting, feature of the website. Here,
users can create their own project-specific maps based on individual interest or need.
To facilitate this feature’s use, we have supplied a number of base maps as a starting point.
For additional help, view our Tutorials in the
Getting Started section. Have fun and please share your results with us.
Quick Maps
This area contains pre-made "off-the-shelf" maps depicting a number of the more commonly
requested census variables, primarily at the census tract and ZIP Code levels of geography.
Currently, maps are available for either the Tri-County area or the City of Detroit.
Reports
A list of professionally authored reports related to Detroit and the community, compiled by
the DCDC adminstrators from a variety of sources: local and national government, academic,
charitable organizations, etc.
Data Sheets
Within this section you’ll find a number of convenient and concise tables and
profiles, containing data from the community level down to the census tract.
